Charlie and I spent the whole day before decorating and baking. I was SO thankful he got the day off because I would have never finished everything by myself.
We set everything out about 15 minutes before the party started and then just sat back and had some fun. Everyone enjoyed the desserts and loved my decorations. I was pretty proud of us mostly because we didn't spend very much at all on this party. Everything was DIY, which I love as well.
So on to pictures and a few links of where I got ideas for things (because I'm all about giving credit!).
Party Decorations
Everything you see here, I made myself. The door sign was just out of my head (I'll have a tutorial for it tomorrow on the blog!). The number 2 kite banner was a couple of days before the party idea I put together. We have 2 fans in our living/dining so I wanted to make a pinwheel kite mobile for that. Pin the tail on the kite… I made it from a poster board we had. I just painted it, cut a kite out of scrapbook paper, glued on some clouds and made tails out of string and paper bows for the kids to "pin" on it. It was a fun game. The kids loved it. I made the kite treat bags out of brown lunch bags. I got the idea from this tutorial here. Everyone asked where I BOUGHT them and I was proud to say I didn't. The tag on them says "Thanks for floating by". Happy birthday banner and Phoebe sign were made in Photoshop Elements and printed at home. Kite "curtain" was made by sewing cut out kites together.
The Dessert Table
ALL credit goes to my wonderful husband. He decorated the cake, made and decorated the cup cakes, chocolate lollipops and the cookies. He's amazing. I bought a kite cookie cutter and a kite chocolate mold off of Ebay.
The Birthday Outfit
I made, yes I MADE her shirt. I got the tutorial here. It's a really great, easy to follow tutorial!
Thanks for crashing our party! We had a really good time celebrating this little girl's second birthday!
