Party Door Decor Tutorial

Hi everyone! Today I decided to do a quick tutorial on how I did my door hanger for Phoebe's party. It was really simple and looked really pretty on our door.

Supplies needed:
12 x 12 scrapbook paper
A canvas (I used a 16x20)

Ready? Set? Go!

Ok first we need to get some 12 x 12 paper. You can use plain or patterned, it just depends on what look you're going for. I used plain in 3 different colors.

Ok, I'm going to show you how to make the smaller pinwheels.

Cut that 12 x 12 paper into 4 - 6 x 6 squares

Now fold each piece like a paper fan.

Fold your paper fan in half, like so.

Then staple or glue those two back flaps together.

Take a second fan and staple the far left flap of one to the far right flap of the second one.

Here's how it should look.

Pull the other side together and staple.
Woo! You just made a paper pinwheel!

Now cut out a pretty circle to glue into the middle of the pinwheel.

And there you go! All done.

Now make 5 more (or as many as you'd like depending on what size canvas you purchased.

Then make larger ones by using a full sheet of 12 x 12 paper for each half of the circle.

Okay, grab your canvas.

And start arranging your pinwheels in a way that you like.

Once you get everything the way you like, hot glue it all down.

Ok, let's make our welcome sign! I made mine in photoshop elements. You can use text and clip art, whatever goes with your party. Print it out and border it with a couple of pieces of scrapbook paper.

And hot glue it on top of all the pinwheels.

You did it! Now go hang that bad boy on your door and enjoy your party!

I really enjoyed making this sign and received many compliments on it. If you have any further question, you can e-mail me or leave a comment and I'll get back to you. Thanks for stopping by!
