Awhile back I got this genius idea that I wanted to build Phoebe a bed.
I searched for ideas, but I've never built anything before, so I had no idea how to go about it really.
Cue Ana White.
She has a million and one plans on her site for building a ton of different furniture and accessories.
I found a bed I liked that looked simple enough and decided to try it.
Of course I'm a total rookie when it comes to power tools and lumber, so I walked to my parents (hello benefits of living next door to your parents) and asked my dad about it.
He had pretty much all the lumber I needed, plus all the power tools.
So on Father's day weekend, my dad (mostly, like 98%) and I (hey I cut 2 boards and did some hammering!) built this awesome bed for Phoebe.
My amazing husband primed, painted and put all the slats in for me over the past couple of weekends so now it's finally done!

And now she has a way to actually get ON her bed!
What I love even more is that this sucker was free to me since my dad had a stock pile of lumber in his shed, primer and paint all ready on hand.
Now we just need a headboard... ;)

That's so cute! Great work!
