The joys of residential life

There are many perks to living in a home vs. an apartment.

Having a yard, more space, a parking spot right in front, a mail box you don't have to walk a block to, etc., but the one thing I hate about living in this house is my extremely inconsiderate neighbor.

No I'm talking about my parents.

The people who live on the other side of us have this big dog that they keep chained up to their shed. And he barks.

And barks...

and barks...

Doesn't matter if it's day or night. He barks. And when he gets going, it's for 15+ minutes.

This morning he woke my child up after only 6 hours of sleep and he wouldn't stop, so what did Phoebe do? Cried and cried and then got out of bed and decides to go ahead and start her day.

Now this is stressing me out past my "being a polite neighbor" point, but I have a few problems.

A. My neighbors don't speak English, so I can't exactly go ask them to please put their dog inside at night.

B. We rent our house, they own. And maybe that would matter, but our landlords are related to them, so I'm a little afraid if I complain, our landlords will make my life hell.

C. I never want to see a dog put down. I feel like of I complain to animal control, the owners will either put the dog down or do nothing to the point where animal control removes the dog or something and takes it to our very high kill shelter.

D. I could move Phoebe's room up to the front of the house, but I really don't want her sleeping up at the front of the house. That just seems dangerous. Plus she's already used to where her room is.

So I'm in a bit of a pickle. All I know is that I have an incredibly cranky toddler and I have a headache.

Oh the joys of residential life.
