Water Table

Like I've said before, it is HOT here in Texas.

Like so hot that every time I step outside I want to cry.

I would rather be indoors the entire summer, but I have a little chickadee that has other plans. And since trying to rationalize with a almost 2 year old is impossible, we do go outside, everyday.

Two days ago we went out, lots of water in tow and her face got red super fast and I could tell she was getting overheated way too fast.

She drank lots of water, but it wasn't doing enough.

So I dragged her inside, kicking and screaming and entertained her until she went down for a nap.

I then pulled out this really great blow up pool that my aunt Donna bought here and went in search for something to blow it up with. Nothing.

Ah! How was I going to entertain my toddler outside and keep her cool???

Two words. Water table.

Now I wasn't going to buy one of these. We have wicked bad mosquitos around here and I get bit like I'm made of sugar. Nevertheless, I figured if we play in it in the early afternoon and I dump it during nap time, we should be ok.

So as soon as Phoebe got up from her nap, we went to Toys R Us and dropped some cash on a water table.

I built it that night and the next day we filled it up. She had a ball! I put her bath cups in there and she loves scooping water and taking it out to the yard to dump.

Now obviously I'd like to keep the water in the table and not all over the porch, but whatever. She's a toddler.

Kid loves it so much and it keeps her cool. What more could I ask for?

Now if I could just get her to stop drinking the water...

Happy Thursday!
