So we ended up with plans for the fourth after all.
Turns out Charlie's uncle Jimmy and aunt Cathy were having a shindig over at their place, so we decided we would go.
They have a big pool and since Phoebe has only been in her small kiddie pool, I was nervous about taking her. I figured she would either love it or hate it and be terrified.
My mom and I decided to make a run to Target to buy her a floatie, some sunblock and a couple of other things. (We also ended up at Children's Place and bought some uber cute things, but that's another story).
Phoebe went down for a nap at 3:15 and Charlie and I ran around getting everything together for the pool. Who knew you would need a freaking duffle bag to go swimming with a kiddo?
When Phoebe got into the pool for the first time, she was pretty apprehensive. She was clinging to me for dear life.
Not two minutes after we got in, another little kid there did a cannon ball right by us and Phoebe got soaked… and then started balling. I thought for sure we were done.
Luckily daddy got into the pool with us and she seemed to cheer up some.
The next 3! hours! or so, Phoebe played in the pool, ran around the deck (with mommy right behind her) and jumped into the pool with daddy.
She started freaking me out because she was trying to just jump into random parts of the pool after awhile. She got WAY too brave for her own good.
She hated the floatie we bought, so I'm going to go buy her some of those puddle jumper things for next time because, my kid? She is a daredevil and I'm pretty scared she'll get in once before I can get to her.
But we had a lot of fun yesterday and to my surprise, Phoebe also like the fireworks. She's nothing like me. I was terrified of fireworks until I was like 9 or something ridiculous like that. But Phoebe kept pointing at them and trying to say "pretty". There were a couple that were super loud and she covered one ear while I covered her other, but no tears.
Although it may have helped that I was letting her watch Team Umizoomi on my phone at the same time. She was distracted with the show and would just look up when a firework went into the air.
All and all we had a great holiday yesterday and I'm so glad we got to spend some time with family and some serious time at the pool.
Hope everyone else had a great day!
