Sometimes this mommying thing is hard.
I get caught up in a lot of things and spend a lot of my days feeling guilty that I'm not doing everything right.
Like letting my little lady watch tv or handing her books to look at herself or feeding her chickfila because I don't want to fight her on eating something healthy.
I don't cut myself slack most of the time either.
Like tonight. I'm sick (which we have already established) and my hubby had to work 10-5, then 7-12. I was tired and had a headache, so what did I do? I turned on a yo gabba gabba episode on Netflix and sat with my eyes closed for 30 minutes.
I felt so guilty after, I read phoebe every book she owns through my coughs and head throbs and played with her until she went to sleep.
I guess I just feel like I should be down on the floor, interacting with her all day ( minus nap time), but I guess I'm having a hard time with it. Plus phoebe gets sick of me sometimes.
So I guess I'm just hanging out all my guilt tonight in hopes of getting it out of my head so I can sleep.
I WILL do better tomorrow.

Boo, I could have written that post myself this week. I hope you feel better soon! Even at our worst, we are better than a lot of parents (I'm thinking of the WORST, like those on drugs or alcohol or who are more interested in Facebook or texting than their child). That day & a half I was sick I tried to tell myself at least she got fed & changed & supervised ; ) Hang in there, you're doing a great job!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you've been sick- no fun at all. Don't feel bad at all about needed a few minutes to rest- you are an amazing mother and it's good for them to have alone playing time too. Hope you get to feeling better soon, love ya.
