Phoebe turned 2 months old on Monday! I can't believe it. It feels like she's been here forever, but not for very long at all. Ha ha.
We went to the Dr. for her 2 month check-up. She is 14 pounds! I can't believe she's that big. I have some good breast milk I guess! She is also 23 inches and her head circumference is 15 inches. So that puts her percentiles at 99th for weight, 75th for length and 33rd for head circumference. Yeah, she's a little chunky. I'm not worried about it though. I know she'll thin out when she gets a little older.
She also got her shots yesterday (yucky!). We had to go to the health department to do it and it took 2 hours to get in even though there were only 4 kids ahead of us! It was ridiculous. When we finally got in there the nurse started with the Rotavirus oral dose which Phoebe did NOT like and immediately threw up that and all the breast milk she had in her tummy. Charlie was holding her at the time and leaned her over when she did it so it went all over the floor, step stool and Charlie's flip flop. It was gross and I felt so bad for her!
Then they started giving her shots. She screamed and cried her painful cry. It was awful. I couldn't help but tear up myself. That cry she does when she's in pain rings through my body and causes some major anxiety. After all the shots were administered, Charlie held her close, but he had to clean off his flip flop so I took her and just held her tight until she felt better and stopped crying. It only took about 5 minutes for her to stop.
As soon as we stuck her in the car seat she went right to sleep. She had a fussy evening the rest of the day until about 9:30 when she went to sleep and slept until 5 this morning. When she woke up, I leaned over her bassinet and she immediately smiled at me so I knew she felt better! Today has been a little fussy as well, but hopefully she'll be back to normal tomorrow. I do not look forward to the next round of shots at all, but I know they're necessary and will protect her from all the bad stuff out there.
All in all it was a busy/yucky day yesterday and I'm glad it's over!
Love,
Amy
